About SILC

Shanghai University (SHU) is a key multi-disciplinary university of the state ‘211 Project’, and among the top 100 universities in China in the 21st century. Shanghai University was formed in May 1994 by consolidating Shanghai University of Technology, Shanghai University of Science and Technology, Shanghai University and Shanghai Institute of Science and Technology.

SHU-UTS SILC Business School was founded in 1994, and was the earliest Sino-foreign cooperative business institute established in China. In 2014 SILC celebrates its 20th anniversary. Since its founding, SILC has gained fame at home and abroad. The founding partner university is University of Technology, Sydney (UTS). In 2006, SILC was chosen as the pilot school to receive quality accreditation by the shanghai municipal education commission, thus becoming not only the first sino-foreign cooperative business school to receive such accreditation by a state authorized audit organization, but also the first school to ever pass the accreditation process.
